By piecing together statements from eyewitnesses and the evidence at the scene, police say that the two cars involved were a 2001 Honda and a 2013 Ford. According to authorities, both cars were speeding and heading eastbound in the 7200 block of Haverford Avenue.

Investigators say that the Honda, being driven by the 35-year-old father, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes before crossing in front of the Ford, which was being driven by the and identified juvenile.

One witness to the crash said, “I guess he sped up so that she couldn’t cut him off and she lost control of the car.”

The two vehicles collided, and the Honda was pushed into five parked cars at a daycare parking lot. Witnesses say that the juvenile driving the Ford got out with a baby who was with her in the vehicle and ran away from the scene of the crash. Police have stated that they have identified the woman, but that she will remain unnamed because she is a juvenile. Authorities say they are confident that there are no other suspects in the case.

Chad Anthony Grey is the 35-year-old father who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Seven other people were injured, including a 27-year-old woman, a four-year-old boy, a one-year-old boy, a 42-year-old man, a 61-year-old man, a 61-year-old woman, and a 59-year-old woman.

Right now, police have not said why Grey was traveling the wrong direction on Haverford in his Honda. The investigation is ongoing.
